License Validation

How to Validate?

As a holder of a foreign license, you will have to get your license validated by the South African Civil Aviation Authority SACAA. We will guide you through the process to get you in the air as quickly as possible.

Below an overview of the validation process:

9
The country of license issue must be an IATA Contracting State
9

Where the country of issue is not a Contracting State you have to undergo bridging training to the extent determined by the SACAA

9
If the medical certificate expires within the initial 12 month period, then the certificate of validation may be revalidated for a further period not exceeding 12 months from original date of issue of the certificate of validation
9
For validation of your license you must:

  • Undergo a skill test
  • Have attended a tutorial on the differences in airspaces and terminology within South Africa
  • Have received a briefing on performance planning, taking into account the effect of high density altitude
  • Write an examination in South African Air Law

If you’re unsure about any aspect of the validation process or have any questions give our team a call, we’re happy to answer any questions you might have.
