Best Training Aircraft

When its coming for simplicity of design, safety and reliability, we do not compromise and therefore fly the Textron Cessna 172.

With 44.000+ units built, the Cessna 172 is the most popular aeroplane in the world and student pilots can rest easy, knowing they’re flying an aircraft that has already trained hundreds of thousands of pilots around the world.

Usually equipped with either a Lycoming or Continental Avgas engine the C172 offers a range of 450 nm, 4 hours endurance, at a fuel consumption of 8 gph.

To make pilot training more efficient and suitable for the high elevation of southern African countries, Sky-Time trusts the reliable turbo charged Diesel engines produced by Continental Motors. Other than for carburettor engines, turbo charged Diesel engines are not suffering any loss of power at high altitudes.

Fully FADEC controlled, these engines provide for up to 11 hours of endurance and a fuel consumption of roughly 5.5 gph of JetA1 or Diesel.

Lowest fuel consumption, low maintenance cost and high performance even at high altitudes makes the Cessna 172 equipped with a Continental Diesel engine an unbeatable combination for efficient pilot training.
